A $20 Hamfest Find

Yesterday I picked up a Timex Sinclair 1000 and a 16K RAM expansion at a local hamfest for just $20.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be working, but that’s okay. Half the fun of this hobby is figuring out why.

I’m looking forward to digging into it, learning more about the hardware, and hopefully bringing it back to life. I’ll be documenting the repair process here on 8 Bit Workbench as the project progresses.

My first project with it will be to do the Composite Video mod, as I believe the RF Modulator could be dead after 40+ years and that is what is causing my issues.

I am going to another hamfest next weekend as well, let’s hope I find something there too.
